Her expertise lies in operationalizing health care strategies that tie financial performance to improved care delivery. She is committed to leveraging technology to transform health care, with a keen appreciation of both its power and its limits.
Janis is recognized for her unique perspectives on the health care industry. She hosts The Powers Report Podcast, which covers health care strategy, operations and policy. Her work has been published in national journals and media outlets, and she was a 2019 SXSW speaker. Her bestselling book, Health Care: Meet the American Dream, was the inspiration behind creating Longitudinal Health Care.
Janis majored in Architecture at Yale and earned Master’s degrees in Architecture (With Honors) and Business Administration from the University of Michigan. She enjoys traveling, exercising and spending time with her two children.
